Troop Guide Back
When you accept the position of Troop Guide, you agree to provide service and leadership in your troop. This responsibility should be fun and rewarding. This job description provides some of the things you are expected to do while serving as a junior leader.
 
Responsible to: Assistant Scoutmaster- Instructor / Guide / Patrol Parent Advisor
Term of office: 1 year

JLT Training: Yes
   
Requirements:    
  • Minimum Star Scout
  • 2 years active in the troop
  • Must have served as a patrol leader
  • Per special assignment by Scoutmaster
  •  
    Duties:
     
  • Remember your experiences as a patrol leader; make sure the patrol leader is guided in the right direction.
  • Advise and help the patrol leader on his duties and responsibilities at patrol and troop meetings only when necessary
  • Help patrol leader counsel individual scouting challenges
  • Help Scouts meet advancement requirements through First Class
  • Prevent harassment of new Scouts by older Scouts
  • Guide new Scouts through early troop experiences to help them become comfortable in the troop and the outdoors
